Macau Poker Cup Championship
After shooting the Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) in Macau a few months ago, I was asked for the Macau Poker Cup Championship at the Grand Lisboa earlier this month. The tournament was not without its fair share of dramatic twists and turns. But one thing was for sure – these dudes love their poker. And so do I. Or, at least I’m starting to like it. I got pretty excited about playing poker after I got back to HK and proceeded to lose all $250K on my zynga poker account on my iPhone. So I won’t be going pro anytime soon.
This was also my first assignment that I was able to shoot with the new Nikon 70-200mm f2.8 VR2. For the gear heads out there, it is delicious.

events a plenty
So although I came back to NY briefly to take a small break from photography and get some real turkey for Thanksgiving, I find myself up at 6AM blogging. Go figure. Here are some shots from a bunch of recent events around Hong Kong.

Asia Pacific Poker Tour Macau: Event Photoshoot
Recently I shot photography for the Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) Season 3 in Macau. While every dude that I know seems to play poker religiously, I myself am not much of a gambling man. Nevertheless, it was more fun that I was expecting, and I got a chance to meet some pretty down-to-earth pros. I also got a chance to try out a new Manfrotto 685B monopod (reviewed here by Yuri Arcurs) which I was using with a 484RC2 ballhead. Saved me plenty of strain as I sat and perched for players to actually drop their poker face for a few seconds.
